Tottenham Boss, Conte Sends A Message To Ronaldo Ahead Of United Clash

Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte has expressed hope that Cristiano Ronaldo maintains his subdued performance ahead of Wednesday clash against Manchester United.

In 12 appearances for the Red Devils this season, the Portuguese forward, who was ranked 20th in the best male player category for the year 2022, has only registered two goals.

Due to Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial’s solid performances, the 37-year-old has fallen in manager Erik ten Hag’s priority list.

The former Juventus striker scored 6 goals in the UEFA Champions League and 18 goals for Manchester United in the domestic league, among which he scored a hat-trick at Old Trafford against Tottenham.

Prior to the match against Manchester United, Conte said, “Last season he scored a hat-trick against us.

“We’re talking about an incredible player, a top player. We’re talking about a player who continues to make a difference for the team in which he plays.

“I have a lot of admiration for Cristiano, for his professionalism, but I hope he will remain calm, not like last season, when he scored three goals. We lost 3-2, but we lost to him, not to United last season. I remember that very well, because we played a very good game.”
