Reports have emerged that the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) senatorial candidate for Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel has begun his ward-to-ward campaign tours against the state APC’s directive.

Daniel’s actions have disobeyed the order given earlier by the APC Chairman in Ogun State, Yemi Sanusi, to wait for further directives from the party before starting their campaigns.

Naija News learnt that the former governor of Ogun state, however, started his campaign tour yesterday from the Ijebu northeast local government area of the State, and the 10 wards of the council.

During his campaign tour, Daniel was reported to have said “Nigeria was well endowed with abundant human and material resources, but required good leaders to fulfil the dreams of its founding fathers.”

While on his campaign tour, he appreciated the support from the people and pledged not to disappoint or betray the confidence they had in him to represent Ogun East senatorial district.

Daniel, who appealed for the support of the people also urge them to support the APC’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and other APC candidates in the 2023 election.

Meanwhile, the Ogun APC chairman had on October 2, stopped the party’s candidates from beginning their campaigns, saying the State is in the process of constituting its campaign committee.

Sanusi explained that the campaign committee when constituted, would work with the APC national headquarters, the presidential campaign council and the governor before drawing a campaign timetable for Ogun.
