Kylian Mbappe Breaks Silence On PSG Exit

French international, Kylian Mbappe, has stated that he is shocked by the news claiming that he plans to leave Paris Saint Germain (PSG) by January.

The 23-year-old appeared in the mixed zone following Paris Saint-Germain’s tie against Olympic Marseille on Sunday, which ended in a 1-0 victory.

According to previous reports from Naija News, the French striker’s relationship with his club has become sour.

Following this, PSG sports Director, Luis Campos debunked the news claiming Mbappe is unhappy, stating that Mbappe “never told me about leaving in January”.

However, other reports suggested that Liverpool was placed on high alert, as it would be the only potential club to sign the forward should he leave Le Parc des Princes.

In an interview with The Telegraph, the striker affirmed the communication with Liverpool’s spokesperson and reveal that The Reds was his mum’s favourite club.

“We talked a little bit,” said Mbappe. “I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum. My mum loves Liverpool. I don’t know why, you will have to ask her! It’s a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It’s a big club,” he added.

Following a recent report, the Frenchman refuted the news about his January exit in an interview with RMC Sports:

“I’m very happy. I never asked for my departure in January, “ the 23-year-old striker said.

“I didn’t understand. I was just as shocked as everyone else. There are people who may think I’m involved in this, but I’m not involved, I was taking a nap. My entourage was at my little brother’s game, all the people who take care of me weren’t there so we were flabbergasted when we heard about it. Afterwards, we had to deal with it, there was a game to play. Just to say that it is completely wrong and I am very happy” Mbappe said.
