Former House Of Reps Member ‘Kidnapped’ In Ebonyi

The former lawmaker representing Ohaozara Onicha Ivo federal Constituency, Ebonyi State in the House of Representatives, Linus Okorie has allegedly been kidnapped by operatives of Ebubeagu operatives in the State.

There are claims that the Labour Party candidate for Ebonyi South Senatorial Seat in the 2023 general election is been tortured by his abductors.

A statement released by his aide, David Ogbonna reads, “Hon. Linus Abaa Okorie was kidnapped early this morning on his way to his house in Abakaliki by gunmen known to be men of the Ebubeagu Security outfit allegedly sent by the Onicha Local Government Chairman.

“The available information confirms that he’d been severely tortured to a near-death situation, made naked and pictures of him taken by his abductors.”

According to Ogbonna, the phones of the former lawmaker are currently with the team commander of his abductors.

He further stated that after the lines were tracked, it reviewed Okoja Road, near Police Headquarters, as his current location adding that the second line showed Ebun-Nwana, Edda.

Ogbonna charged security agencies to swing into action and unravel the situation around the alleged abduction of Linus.

He called for his abductors to be brought to face the wrath of the law.

The media aide to the former lawmaker added, “We, employ our supporters, CaringHeart members, and friends of Hon. Linus not to give into unlawful acts but allow the security men do their professional jobs.”

His abduction has also been confirmed by his wife, Lilian Abaa Okorie, who has also raised an alarm that they are planning to kill her husband.

She levelled accusations at the state governor, Dave Umahi, who is also contesting for the Ebonyi South Senatorial seat on the Platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
