In Kocaeli, Turkey on Saturday, the Nigeria U-17 women’s team, the Flamingoes, defeated Galatasaray Ladies 3-1 in advance of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in India.

Recall that a goal from Opeyemi Ajakaye in the 26th minute and two goals from Edidiong Etim helped Nigeria’s Flamingoes thrash the Galatasaray girls in one of the preparation matches.

The official Super Falcon’s Twitter page announced their arrival as it reads: “Hello India! Our sisters, the Flamingos, have arrived in Goa for #U17WWC after a five-hour stopover in Mumbai.

“Players and officials have since settled down at Grand Hyatt Hotel,”

The tournament, which starts on the 11th of October, will see the girls face the Germans at Goa. However, Chile and New Zealand are in the same group as the Nigerian Girls in the Under-17 Women’s World Cup.
