FG Approves Compensation Plan For Injured, Sick Nigerian Employees

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige has refused to publicly disclose the presidential candidate he would vote for in the 2023 elections.

Asked on Friday night during an interview appearance on Channels Television if he would be voting for his friend, Labour Party (LP), candidate, Peter Obi or his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer, Bola Tinubu, Ngige said his choice will be made at the polls but he doesn’t have to publicly reveal who he’ll be voting for.

The Minister added that because he is currently on national assignment, he is not involved in active politics.

“I’m not active in politics for now because I am facing national assignment,” he said.

Speaking further on who would get his vote between APC’s Tinubu and the Labour Party’s Peter Obi, Ngige declared: “Both of them are my friends. My choice will be in the ballot box. It is a secret ballot. I shouldn’t tell Nigerians what I would do secretly.”

Tinubu Changed Lagos

Asked about the APC’s decision to flaunt the past records of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as Lagos Governor in his campaign for the 2023 presidency, Ngige said Tinubu not only performed well but laid the foundation for others after him to follow.

He added that he (as Anambra State Governor) also changed the fortunes of the state and When Peter Obi took over from him, he tried to follow his blueprint except in the aspect of infrastructure and he (Obi) paid dearly for it at the polls as it cost him other elections.
