Haaland speaks on why he did not play for England national team

As Manchester City thrashed Copenhagen, Erling Haaland continued his fantastic scoring run with two more goals, giving them three straight victories in Group G of the Champions League.

Haaland’s effort at a fourth hat-trick for City was halted at halftime, after being taken off. but his first-half double gives him 19 goals overall in his first 12 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s team.

If not for the efforts of Copenhagen goalkeeper Kamil Grabara, City would have scored more than five goals in a one-sided game as they were far too quick and shrewd for their Danish opponents.

Haaland found space inside the area when Cancelo’s low cross reached him, and as expected, he finished powerfully with his very first touch of the game.

Minutes past the half-hour mark Haaland was in the right place to score after Grabara parried a shot from Sergio Gomez.

After Aymeric Laporte was fouled, Riyad Mahrez scored from the spot to make it 4-0.

The Algerian forward then switched roles as a provider to set up Julian Alvarez to add one more goal from close range.
