Police Give Update On Woman Who Flogged Her 3-Year-Old Child To Death

The Anambra Police Command has confirmed the transfer of one Chinelo Udogu, who allegedly flogged her three-year old child to death and dumped the body in a bush at Amikwo, Awka, Anambra State.

Naija News earlier reports that Chinelo confessed to committing the tragic incident on Wednesday.

The woman had taken NAPTIP officials to the bush where she buried the child, with the body of the victim already decomposing.

Speaking in Igbo, she said: “I beat her and she started convulsing so I took her to Kings (hospital). Getting there, she died, so I threw her body here.”

Speaking about the development, the state police public relations officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said that Chinelo have been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department.

He also admonished the general public to learn self-control and desist from going physical whilst correcting children.

According to him, “The suspect has been arrested and the victim’s body recovered. The lesson for us to learn is that we should be cautious when angry and desist from going physical when correcting our children.

“The case had been transferred to state Criminal Investigation Department for a discretion investigation.”
