Labour Party Chieftain Billed To Anchor Peter Obi Rally In Owerri Slumps And Dies

The Labour Party (LP) has reacted to the alleged attack on one of Peter Obi’s supporters in Lagos State.

Naija News reports that on Sunday, a social media user by the name Obi Flag boy was reportedly attacked.

The netizen had said that he was attacked by thugs in Oshodi for allegedly carrying Peter Obi’s flag.

He posted, “This is what the chairman of Oshodi and his boys did to us today at Oshodi because they saw us carrying the @peterobi flag.

“We were almost burnt alive if not for an army officer.”

Reacting to the incident via Twitter on its verified page, LP said that intimidation and attack on its followers would not be tolerated.

According to the party, Obi’s campaign is a democratic movement and no individual should be molested for their support.

The tweet read, “Attack on any Nigerian is an attack to ALL and especially to us @NgLabour. We strongly condemn such barbaric intimidation/harassment of our supporters @ObiFlagboy, especially in Lagos. ObiDatti movement is a democratic movement and no one should be molested @PoliceNG @followlasg.”

Sowore Condemn Attack On Obi Supporters

Similarly, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore has also condemned the alleged attack on Obi supporters.

Sowore appealed to the Nigeria Police and the Department of Public Prosecution to prevail over the situation and charge suspected perpetrators.

According to Sowore, no Nigerian citizen deserves such level of cruelty over their political choices.

Sharing the videos of the young men, Sowore wrote; ”These are @NgLabour supporters of @PeterObi attacked and brutalised by @OfficialAPCNg supporters in lagos. It is criminal to subject any Nigerian citizen to this level of cruelty over their political choices @PoliceNG must prosecute them accordingly.”
