Tyson Fury Is Not Fighting Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua’s show promoter, Eddie Hearn has cleared the air on the British bout between Tyson Fury and his client, which was billed to hold in December.

Naija News recalls that Tyson Fury challenged Anthony Joshua on social media with a stunning title lifeline to go back on the winning track and a promise to divide the money in half.

After Joshua openly accepted the WBC heavyweight champion’s offer, Fury’s agent Frank Warren and Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn had a discussion about the fight’s details.

According to a report today, negotiations between the two sides appear to be coming to a standstill since Joshua’s promoter doesn’t think the December 3 fight will actually happen.

He said “In our mind, Tyson Fury is not fighting Anthony Joshua. We’re more than happy to continue those conversations, but what we’ve been told is the deadline has passed.”

However, he further insisted that the Nigerian-born British boxer is open to further negotiation.

“As far as we’re concerned the fight’s off. We’re happy to continue the discussions,” the show promoter said.

Anthony Joshua To Be Honoured By President Buhari

Meanwhile, Naija News earlier report that the President Of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari will honour Nigerian-born Boxer Anthony Joshua ad 63 other persons in the same category with national awards at the state house on Tuesday.

The former two-time unified heavyweight world champion will receive the Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) award together with the 64 Nigerians in that category out of the total of 437 people nominated for national honours.
