The Appeal Court dismissed an appeal by Ann Nwanyibuife Agom-Eze and also set aside the judgment of the Federal High Court and all its orders.

Ihedioha Begs Igbos Supporting Peter Obi Over ‘Saboteurs Statement’

Former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioa, has tendered an unreserved apology to the supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, (LP) Peter Obi for calling them ‘saboteurs’ if they vote against the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 election.

Naija News reports that Ihedioha tendered his apology during an interview on Channels Tv on Friday following the backlash faced from his supporters who also threatened to withdraw their support.

The former governor who won the governorship of Imo State under the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) but was ousted from office after a Supreme Court verdict that went in favour of Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) in 2020 was seen saying in a video during an event in Ghana saying that anyone who votes any other place, is a saboteur.

However, in a recent interview, Ihedioha said his comment was taken out of context, as he was referring to people within the PDP who would want to sabotage the efforts in claiming power in 2023.

Edo PDP: Supreme Court Decides On Dan Orbih’s Faction Suit

The Supreme Court has ruled against a suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction in Edo State loyal to Dan Osi Orbih.

Naija News reports that Orbih and Governor Godwin Obaseki have been at loggerheads following activities before and during the party’s primary elections in May 2022.

The duo have been at war over who controls the affairs of the party in the State. In the power tussle, Orbih instituted an appeal at the apex court.

However, the Supreme court during a sitting on Friday, declared Orbih’s faction suit as unworthy, stating that the issue of leadership by political parties is an internal affair and as such, the courts have no jurisdiction.

The court judge, Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, held that the appeal marked SC/CV/979/2022, filed by Hon Monday Iyere Osagie, lacked merit because it is not justiciable.

Omokri Reacts As PDP NWC Members Return Millions Paid Into Their Accounts

Former presidential aide and staunch supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Reno Omokri, has reacted to the ongoing saga and claims of alleged bribery involving the national working committee (NWC) of the party.

Recall that some letters allegedly written by some members of the PDP NWC indicating the return of the money paid into their accounts surfaced on the internet earlier.

It was revealed in the letter that four PDP NWC members returned the sum of N93.6 million paid into their account by the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu.

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tahir Mamman, has said that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, is not working for the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to become the next President.

Naija News recalls that Governor Wike of Rivers State had claimed that someone in the Presidency is backing Atiku and the PDP for the 2023 presidential election.

However, the claim generated a series of reactions online with some APC members calling for an investigation into the claim made by the Rivers governor.

The claim followed a condolence visit by SGF Mustapha to the former Vice President, following the death of the Private Secretary to Atiku, Abdullahi Nyako.

In a statement, he personally signed on Thursday, Mamman denied claims that Mustapha is working with Atiku and the PDP to become President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.

Mamman also described the claims as puerile, mischievous and grossly inappropriate, advising Nigerians to ignore claims meant to cause disaffection between Mustapha and the party.

The APC chieftain, however, asserted that the SGF remains committed to supporting the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, to win the 2023 election.

Recall that a leaked letter that went viral had emerged online on Thursday purportedly written by Adamu to Tinubu over the composition of the campaign council.

In the leaked letter, the APC chairman accused Tinubu of breaching the agreement he had with the National Working Committee (NWC) with regard to the composition of the presidential campaign council.

Adamu said the presidential candidate is operating solo whereas winning elections is supposed to be a collaborative effort.

But in a swift statement, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka denied any letter originated from the chairman to the presidential candidate on such an issue.

According to Morka, there is no disagreement between Adamu and Tinubu nor did the viral letter originate from the party chairman has been alleged.

But speaking to Vanguard, the APC chieftain accused Adamu and members of the NWC of trying to take control and hijack the council.

He claimed that the NWC members are angry that Tinubu made James Faleke the Secretary of the campaign council and not one of them, adding that the intention of Adamu was to fill the council with his loyalists.
