Prior to the next presidential election, Oyo State’s Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams, met with leaders of vigilante organizations and other stakeholders to solicit support for nonviolent campaigning.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Adewale Osifeso, made this statement on Friday in Ibadan.

William clarified that the meeting’s other goals included fostering a better working environment and deciding on a shared course as the election campaign got underway.

The commissioner commended the security organizations for their cooperation with the police and other security services, which resulted in real accomplishments.

He urged them to regularly assess their hiring processes by carrying out sufficient background checks on prospective and current employees.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Aare Mogaji Ariori thanked the police commissioner for setting up the meeting and pledged to strengthen their current working relationship.
