EFCC Reveal Identities Of ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’ School Owners, Students Arrested In Edo

Earlier this month, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it arrested no fewer than seven suspected internet fraudsters in Edo State.

The development was confirmed in a statement made available to newsmen by the Benin Zonal Command of the ant-graft agency, Naija News reports.

In the statement, EFCC said its operatives arrested two yahoo-yahoo (internet fraud) school owners and seven others suspected to be their students during a raid in their location in the state.

The anti-graft agency explained that criminal suspects were running an Internet Fraud Coaching Centre (a.k.a HK) in Benin City.

It identified the names of the yahoo school owners as Osagie Ogiemwonyi and Onukwugho Favour. The EFCC said the other seven were arrested at the centres following actionable intelligence worked upon by the commission.

The identities of the seven suspects were revealed as Destiny Ohikwugbe, Chata Okoro, Ighodaro Omede, Ehigie Idemudia, Lawrence Daniel, Raymond Ogiemwonyi Oghosa and Henry Philip.

Items recovered from the suspects according to the Commission include a Mercedes Benz GLK, Lexus 350, phones and laptops, Naija News understands.
