I'm Not Envious Of Peter Obi's Popularity- Sowore

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore has condemned the court order which stopped Peter Obi’s supporters from campaigning at the Lekki toll gate.

Naija News recalls that Obidients had scheduled the ObiDatti23 Forward Ever Rally to be held on October 1, 2022 in Lagos. They planned to converge at the facility before proceeding to other places.

However Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos ordered Obi supporters not to converge on the Lekki toll gate for their rally.

The judge directed that the rally procession cannot converge at the Lekki toll gate, but that the procession can pass through the toll gate to access Falomo Bridge and other venues at which the rally plans to meet.

Reacting to the development, Sowore in a post on his official social media handles, said it was dangerous that a judge could give such an order stopping the peaceful gathering.

He wrote, “It is completely wrong for anyone to have gone to court to stifle a legitimate political gathering by @PeterObi supporters at #Lekkitollgate and equally dangerous that a judge gave an order stopping the gathering.

“It is a matter of time before a crazy injunction is granted that opposition groups can’t campaign in @OfficialAPCNg stronghold. I totally condemn these acts”.
