Tinubu’s Campaign Council: Osinbajo, Dogara, Shittu Out, Buhari, Amaechi, Fani-Kayode, Zack Orji, Jide Kosoko, Others In

The presidential campaign council list of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been released with several notable names of party chieftains missing.

Naija News reports that the 422-man list released on Friday night include APC governors, ministers, lawmakers, ambassadors, actors as well as serving and past public office holders.

The list released to newsmen was signed by the Presidential Campaign Council Secretary, James Faleke.

According to the list, Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, was retained as Director-General as well as Deputy Director-General (Operations), Adams Oshiomhole, and Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga.

Those surprisingly included are former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, and Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Those missing include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; former Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba and one of Tinubu’s top ally, Adebayo Shittu.

Buhari Told Us Not To Include Osinbajo In Tinubu’s Campaign Council – APC

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has given clarification as to why Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s name was not included in Bola Tinubbu’s presidential campaign council.

Naija News reports that APC ahead of the 2023 general election released a list containing 422 names of notable individuals as members and department heads in Tinubu’s presidential campaign council.

There were, however, reactions and a series of speculations as Osinbajo’s name was missing from the list.

Recall that Osinbajo was among those that challenged Tinubu for the APC presidential ticket months ago when the party conducted its national convention.

However, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who came second in the primaries, made it to the party’s campaign list which has generated a barrage of reactions.

Reacting, to speculations which have greeted the campaign list, the spokesman of the campaign, Festus Keyamo, in a statement released on Saturday, explained that President Muhammadu Buhari specifically requested that Osinbajo and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, should be excluded from the campaign council.

According to him, Buhari’s reason for the call was so the leaders could focus on governance as he is also part of the campaign council.

Amid PDP Crisis, Wike Travel Out To Europe

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has travelled out to Europe amid the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The decision of the Rivers State Governor to travel out of Nigeria is coming hours after media chats where he revealed issues in the PDP.

Recall that Wike during the media chat claimed that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu offered him a senatorial slot.

Wike also revealed things the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar promised him during their meeting in London.

The Rivers State governor pointed to why he has been insisting on the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu to resign from office.

A source that spoke with Daily Trust disclosed that Governor Wike travelled out of the country for a yet-to-be-disclosed country in Europe around midnight on Friday.

The source noted that the governor jetted out from the Port Harcourt International Airport in a chattered flight.

A source in Government House who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed Governor Wike’s trip but refused to state the actual destination.

2023: Peter Obi’s Supporters Stage Massive One Million-Man March In Abuja

Thousands of supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, (LP) Peter Obi are currently staging a one million march today in Abuja.

Naija News reports the supporters converged at the Unity Fountain at around 9 am, then marched in their numbers to the Abuja city gate.

The march, which is part of the support for the Obi/Datti 2023 presidential ticket was tagged “Abuja One Million Man Freedom March”

Amongst those participating in the rally, includes men, women, youths and the physically challenged, who held placards with the Labour Party flag in a show of solidarity with Peter Obi’s presidential bid.

2023: Charly Boy Reveals Why He Is Supporting Peter Obi’s Ambition

Popular activist, Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy has revealed why he is supporting the presidential ambition of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Charly Boy in an interview with Daily Post noted that the All Progressives Congress-led government has failed Nigerians.

He further stated that there is a need for change as the current administration has failed to give hope to the common man.

The 72-year-old activist believes that Obi would bring about socio-economic changes.

Wike, Makinde, George, Others Don’t Mean Well For PDP, Plotting To Frustrate Atiku – Metuh

A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and other aggrieved party members of trying to frustrate the presidential candidate of the party, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

He stated that Wike, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Olabode George, do not mean well for the opposition party.

Metuh, a member of the PDP’s National Executive Committee, stated that the aggrieved party members are seeking to control the PDP.

Speaking to Saturday PUNCH, he said slammed the aggrieved members for calling for the removal or resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

‘Eyin Ko Lokan’ (It’s Not Your Turn) – Melaye Blasts Tinubu

The Spokesperson of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organization, Dino Melaye, on Saturday said the 2023 presidential election is not the turn of the flagbear of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

Melaye said there is no conferment in the forthcoming election, adding that there is no short cut to the contest.

The former lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district in his statement also accused the APC of trying to take advantage of the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Melaye said the presidential candidate of PDP that Atiku would not sacrifice those elected by the party for his own ambition, just to please autocratic democrats.

The former legislator said if Atiku loses the support of some PDP members while obeying rules, he would be satisfied that he acted right.

2023: PDP’s Senator Nnamani Makes Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign List

A chieftain of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Governor of Enugu State, Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani has been appointed into the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

Naija News reports that the serving lawmaker’s name appeared in a list released on Friday, where he was listed as one of the members of the Local Government Directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

To this moment, Nnamani has not issued any official statement on his defection to the ruling party.

Though the Enugu State politician has never hidden his admiration and support for Tinubu, he has still not declared his withdrawal from the opposition camp.

Also on the campaign list sighted by Naija News on Saturday is the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

You Are Bunch Of Busy Bodies, Leave PDP Alone – Atiku Fires APC, Tinubu

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential flagbearer for dabbling in the PDP internal affairs.

Atiku, who spoke through his Media Adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe, in Abuja, on Friday, was responding to the APC Presidential campaign’s claim that Atiku’s ambition was tearing the PDP apart.

The Director, Media and Publicity APC Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga had said that the presidential ambition of Atiku has come to an end.
