Tinubu’s Running Mate, Shettima Suffering From Amnesia - PDP

Former presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu on Thursday reacted to the decision of some leaders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to pull out of the campaign council of the party.

Naija News had earlier reported that the camp of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike pulled out of the campaign of the party over the decision of the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu to remain in office.

Governor Wike’s camp had called for Ayu’s resignation over Northern dominance in key positions of party.

Momodu, in his statement on Arise TV, said he believes the crisis in the main opposition party will be resolved.

He further stated that the party leaders will continue to appeal to aggrieved members to shed their grievances.

The veteran journalist called on the Rivers State Governor, Wike not to take the matter and grievance too far.

According to Momodu, it is not possible for the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar to unilaterally remove Ayu from office.

He warned people that are not pleased with the runnings of the party not to weaken the party with their statements, adding that they stand to gain nothing when the party is dead.

The PDP chieftain commended Atiku for taking steps to meet with Wike and his friends in London over the crisis in the party.

He added, “And what I thought they would do was come back home to Nigeria and continue the engagement. But every day, there is a new threat against the party.”

Momodu, who described Governor Wike as the best Governor in Nigeria, warned him against destroying the party he worked so hard to build.
