Lalong Declared Plateau South Senator As Appeal Court Dismisses PDP's Petition

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the governor of Plateau state, Simon Lalong of shunning his duties as a leader of the state for personal pursuits.

The party shared their concern while briefing journalists at the state secretariat of the party in Jos, the state capital.

The party insisted that the activities of the governor are negatively affecting the economic development of the state.

The PDP stated this through its State Publicity Secretary, Mr John Akans, while briefing journalists at the state secretariat of the party in Jos, the state capital.

Akans said, “Governor Simon Lalong in his usual manner has abandoned pressing issues of governance in the state for his personal interest, while Plateau people are facing a bitter experience as a result of leadership vacuum created by Lalong’s consistent absence.

“This is a man that does not stay in Plateau, instead he is roving from point to the other, for personal reasons, and does not know what is happening in his state.”

Speaking further, the PDP alleged that Lalong has been peddling lies claiming that the governorship candidate of the PDP will not participate in the 2023 general election.

Gentleman of the press, you all recall that Governor Lalong while hosting his APC senatorial zone stakeholders, he openly told them that the PDP will not be part of the 2023 general elections,” Akans said.
