NNPP Speaks On Kwankwaso, Atiku Alleged Alliance Hours To Presidential Election

The spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, says the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and his counterpart in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, are not that popular in the North.

Naija News reports that the major frontline presidential candidates are Atiku, Kwankwaso, Bola Tinubu of the APC, and the Labour Party flagbearer, Peter Obi.

In an interview with The Punch on Sunday, Keyamo said both Atiku and Kwankwaso do not have the relevance and political stature of President Muhammadu Buhari in the North.

He opined that both candidate do not have the kind of acceptability, street credibility, and integrity that President Buhari enjoys in the North.

Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Kwankwaso do not have the popularity, acceptability, street credibility, and the kind of integrity that Buhari has that made him a rave in the North,” he said.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment added that Tinubu would get the bloc votes of President Buhari to win the 2023 presidential election.

He added, “I am optimistic that the structures that worked to get us those bloc votes are still with us.

Atiku Reacts

Reacting to the Keyamo’s statement, Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, slammed the Minister for saying that his principal is not popular in the North and does not have street credibility.

Ibe said if Tinubu hopes to secure the bloc votes of Buhari, he must equally be prepared to share in the failures of his government in the last seven years.
