A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Abba has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Na’Abba while speaking on his decision to dump the ruling party said APC is a disaster and calamity that has taken the nation backwards.

He further stated that APC in the 2023 general elections will face the wrath of Nigerians for causing them pain.

Hon Golu Timothy announced Na’Abba’s defection at a meeting of the former house of Representatives members presided over by former deputy Speaker, Austin Okpara on Thursday.

According to Timothy, the former speaker and his supporters in Kano State have returned to PDP to work for the emergence of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Okpara while speaking at the meeting said the PDP is set to restore human dignity and the economic survival of Nigeria.

He further stated that everything has been affected due to the absence of the party in the last seven years.

Okpara said the earlier PDP is back in power, the better for Nigerians.

Former deputy speaker and Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha while speaking at the meeting said the victory of the PDP presidential candidate in 2023 will mean well for Nigerians.

Ihedioha charged members of the main opposition party to work for the victory of the party in 2023.

Timothy in a statement released said the house has decided that all former federal legislators should lead the presidential campaigns in their various constituencies.
