The PUNCH: The newly appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party and former Senate President, Chief Adolphus Wabara, has begun crucial moves to save the main opposition party from imminent collapse. As a result, he is leading a delegation of the PDP BoT, comprising some former governors, ex-deputy governors, ex-ministers and other top party chieftains to meet three of the aggrieved PDP governors within 48 hours.


The Guardian: Pressures from the global energy crisis and compounding situation at home may be costing Nigeria’s 43 million households nothing less than N8.9 trillion yearly, The Guardian has gathered. Apart from the over N6 trillion being spent by the Federal Government to subsidise Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), on average, households in Nigeria, faced with rising inflation and high cost of food items, are now spending about ₦4,000 weekly on electricity, Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) and petrol for power generating sets.

Daily Trust: The Senate Committee on Finance Wednesday said over 400 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are to be scrapped as recommended by Stephen Orosanye-led Presidential Committee on rationalization of agencies.
