2023: Your Visiting Method Will Not Guarantee You The Presidency – Falana Schools Peter Obi

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has warned the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi to desist from visiting certain individuals whom he said were those responsible for destroying Nigeria.

He gave the advice during the LP National Retreat held in Abuja yesterday.

Falana argued that such methods does not guarantee that the party would win the election.

His words: “I was very reluctant to come here today. Because as Fidel Castro once did, he went to America and they asked him to speak, he said, I don’t want to annoy a powerful enemy in his own territory, let me challenge the leaders of the Labour Party. You are not going to get power in Nigeria by adopting the methods of the bourgeois. If you want to mobilize the Nigerian people, you must go beyond visiting those who destroyed Nigeria.”

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria insisted that it would be better to visit Labour Union, youths, women and other unions, adding that they are the real voters in the country unlike those whose only interest is looting resources.

The Man In Aso Rock Is Tired

Falana also said that President Muhammadu Buhari and those planning to succeed him in 2023 are tired

He said, “The man in Aso Rock said I am tired and I want to go home. Those who want to take power are also tired. Power lies in the street now.”

He claimed that the opposition party would want to engage in vote buying, noting that they have weaponized poverty in order to achieve the strategy.

He called on LP members not to operate on such terrain, stressing how they have the largest structure in the land in terms of people.

He said, “And what do they want to do? They want to bribe voters because they have weaponized poverty. Therefore, you cannot operate on the same terrain. You have the largest structures in Nigeria. Please go out today to revitalize those structures.

“It is not business as usual in Nigeria again. Time is on our side. Because Nigerians have lost faith. They are now running from pillar to post when they say you have no structure. Tell them the people are the structure. Power is lying on the street.”
