The suspended English Premier league (EPL) games will resume this weekend with the match day eight (8) fixtures.

The games are resuming after the suspension as a mark of honour for the late Queen Elizabeth II who passed away last Thursday at the age of 96.

Naija News reports that after a weekend break, the English Football League announced on Monday that matches will resume this week including the three divisions below the Premier League.

The announcement came with new rules stating that in honour of late England’s Queen Elizabeth II, flags would be flown at half-mast and the national anthem would be played in stadiums during matches.

However, despite the return of the league games, some clubs won’t still be in action as three matches out of 10 were called off.

Chelsea v Liverpool

Man Utd v Leeds

Europa League: Arsenal vs PSV Postponed

This week’s Europa League tie between Arsenal and PSV Eindhoven has been postponed.

UEFA confirmed in a statement on Monday that the match is put on hold due to a shortage of police officers at the Emirate Stadium.

UEFA, however, announced today that Arsenal Vs PSV’s new match schedule would be communicated when due.
