Presidency 2023: Tinubu Has A Better Chance Than Others – Gbenga Daniel

A former Ogun State governor, Gbenga Daniel has said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu stands a better chance than his counterparts.

Daniel stated this during an interactive session at a two-day leadership capacity development programme for councillors in Ogun East senatorial district held in Ijebu-Ode.

The event with the theme: ‘Understanding Leadership and Legislative Responsibilities at the Grassroots Level’, had in attendance 103 councillors and 24 youth leaders drawn from the nine local government areas in Ogun East senatorial district

The former governor said that considering Tinubu’s track record he would improve the economy and guarantee the autonomy of the local governments.

He argued that Tinubu had proven during his time as the Lagos State governor that he is ready to assign more powers to the third tier of government.

He said: “I look at Asiwaju as somebody who is clear in what he wants to do, as far as the economy is concerned. From a number of the decisions he has taken, when you take a deeper look, you will know he knows what he’s doing.

“So, when it comes to local government administration, if there is anybody who has shown determination to empower local governments, Asiwaju Tinubu’s ruggedness towers above others.”

Daniel went on to advice the APC to target members of the electorate who were still undecided on whom to vote for and do their best to convince them to support Tinubu.
