Gov Ayade Appoints 86 More Aides Few Months To End Of Tenure

The executive Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade, has approved some new appointments.

A terse statement released on Friday through the governor’s Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Linus Obogo, revealed that a total of 86 people were given appointments to serve as members in various councils and boards.

The appointments according to Obogo take immediate effect. He noted that most of the appointees are to serve as members of the Community Mobilisation Council.

Others were appointed as members of the Public Utility Management Board as well as directors of agencies and members of other boards.

The governor has, through his ‘Food on the table’ policy, appointed several aides during his first and second terms in office.

Naija News understands that Ayade’s current tenure comes to end in 2023.

Kebbi Governor, Bagudu Dissolves Cabinet 

In another news, the Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu on Wednesday dissolved his cabinet.

The reason for the decision was not made public, but a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the Secretary to the State Government, Babale Yauri, noted that some of the members of the dissolved council might be recalled for new positions.

Naija News reports that the statement quoted Bagudu as saying that the dissolution of the executive council is with immediate effect from Wednesday, 7 September 2022.

“The Governor is sincerely appreciative of the individual contributions of each member of the Cabinet and thanked them for their dedication to duty and ensuring peace and steady development of the state during their respective tenure in office,” the statement said.

He thanked all the members of the dissolved council for their performance, adding that a new State Executive Council would be announced soon.
