PDP Secretary Speaks On ‘Distancing’ Wike Over Internal Crisis

The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen Samuel Anyanwu, has described viral social media reports alleging reasons why he ”distanced himself’ from the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike as fictitious, false and malicious.

Anyanwu in a statement signed by his media aide, Ikenna Onuoha, on Tuesday urged the general public to disregard the fictitious report, adding that it was the handiwork of paid hatchet writers desperately trying to cause disaffection between the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and himself.

The PDP National Secretary said that he has ordered his Lawyers to take the necessary over the malicious and fictitious reports which sole aim, is to tarnish his image in the state, and set him on collision caused with supporters and the chieftains of the party.

He further fingered one Mr Chuks Egemba, who was an appointee in the short-lived administration of the PDP in the state as the source of the fictitious report.

How Keyamo Opposed Tinubu’s Qualification As Lagos Governor – Bwala

The spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Daniel Bwala, said the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, once claimed that Bola Tinubu was not qualified to be the Governor of Lagos State.

Naija News reports that Bwala made this known during a programme on Channels Television, Political Paradigm, on Tuesday.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain disclosed that Keyamo had sued the Lagos Assembly in 2002 over Tinubu’s position as the then governor of Lagos State.

He said Keyamo, who was recently appointed as the spokesman of the Bola Tinubu Campaign Organisation, was the appellant in the then case.

Bwala, however, cited a law report titled Keyamo V. House Of Assembly, Lagos State (2002)18 NWLR (Pt. 799)605 to prove his claim.

2023 Elections: Ekpenyong Slams Wike Over PDP Crisis

The Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West, Chris Ekpenyong, has berated Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State over the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Naija News reports that the Rivers governor is angry over the manner of his loss to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at the presidential primary and the failure of the former Vice President to pick him as running mate.

Governor Wike and his camp have demanded the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, in order to resolve the party’s internal wranglings.

However, Ayu has rejected the demand made by the Rivers governor, stressing that he will not resign from his position.

In an interview with Vanguard over the weekend, Ekpenyong said Wike has not made his demands known to the public and to the party’s presidential candidate.

The lawmaker, however, refuted the claim by the governor that the South does not hold any position in the party, saying that the vice presidential candidate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, is from the region.

2023: Why Tinubu Attended Kukah’s 70th Birthday – Shittu

A former Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, has revealed the reason the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, attended the 70th birthday celebration of the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Hassan Kukah.

Naija News recalls that Tinubu and top dignitaries including his running mate, Kashim Shettima; Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and others trooped out last week Wednesday to celebrate Kukah on his birthday celebration.

In a statement on Sunday, Shittu said Tinubu attended Kukah’s birthday celebration to show critics of his presidential ticket that he is not a religious bigot.

The former minister commended Tinubu for attending Kukah’s birthday celebration despite the backlash from the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Shittu stated that Tinubu’s presence and brilliant delivery at the occasion had inevitably shamed and silenced the critics calling for Christians to vote against his candidacy.

Keyamo Speaks On Dragging Tinubu To Court Over Certificate Forgery

The spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has denied dragging the then Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, to court over alleged certificate forgery.

In a statement on Tuesday, Keyamo said he only sued the Lagos House of Assembly to seek an interpretation of the law over an alleged certificate forgery case.

He made this known while reacting to a comment by the Spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Daniel Bwala, who said Keyamo sued Tinubu during his first term in office in 2002.

Bwala, who spoke in an interview on Channels Television, said the Minister of State, Labour and Employment once claimed that Tinubu was not qualified to be the Governor of Lagos State.

According to Keyamo, the Supreme Court has delivered its judgment that Tinbu’s certificates were not forged, stressing that the matter had been laid to rest.

Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Get Rid Of Shettima Or Lose The Election – Northern Coalition Warns APC

A coalition of North-East and North Central stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), to review the choice of former governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima as its vice presidential candidate.

The Secretary-General of the group, Dauda Yakubu while speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Monday, asked the party to make a move towards resolving the lingering crisis plaguing the party.

Naija News recalls that the division in the APC began after its presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced Shettima as his running mate.

The decision has since then caused suspicion amongst members of the party and Nigerians.

Reacting to the situation, the Secretary-General of the group, insisted that there was a lot at stake if the party chooses to go ahead with the same faith ticket.

Tinubu Camp Reacts As PDP Describes Asiwaju As A Confused Candidate

The Tinubu Campaign Organisation has slammed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for describing the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, as a confused candidate.

In a statement on Monday, the spokesman of the organisation, Bayo Onanuga, said the APC presidential candidate will not trade words or insults with the opposition PDP.

Recall that Tinubu, while speaking on Saturday at the unveiling of the Tinubu/Shettima door-to-door campaign group in Abuja, had called on the APC members not to hurl abuses at the PDP because the APC is smarter and the PDP lacks direction.

In its response, the PDP described the APC as a dead party, stressing that Tinubu is confused and a paper candidate, adding that he is intimidated by its candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Reacting, Onanuga said Tinubu and the ruling party will be more focused on burning issues, stressing that the opposition party has nothing to offer Nigerians in 2023.

He said the PDP descended into the pit of hatred because Tinubu reminded the party of its 16 years which left a mess for the APC government.

2023: We Will Make Use Of Doctors And Nurses As Agents To Stop Rigging – Labour Party

The Labour Party (LP) has said that they will be employing the help of nurses, doctors and other medical practitioners to prevent vote manipulation in the upcoming 2023 election.

National chairman of the Labour Party, Barr Julius Abure, said that the party will try their possible best to block all loop holes for rigging the election.

The national chairman stated this when the Docs&Medics4PeterObi, a movement by healthcare professionals in support of the Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed candidacy, visited his office.

Abure told the group that he wants the list of all the medical personnels across the country so that they can serve as the party’s agents at the polling units.

2023: Peter Obi Is A Threat To Tinubu’s Ambition – Obi Group Replies Onanuga

The Peter Obi Support Network has said the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, is a threat to the ambition of the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

Naija News reports that the Obi Network was reacting to a statement by the spokesman of the Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga, who said that Obi is just a social media creation, which is going to fade out before the 2023 general elections.

In an interview with The Punch on Monday, the Spokesperson of the Obi network, Jones Onwuasoanya, said the Tinubu camp was already scared of the massive support the former Anambra Governor is enjoying on social media.

Jones asserted that Onanuga was conceding defeat too early, saying that Obi is a creation of Nigerians and not a social media buzz as claimed.

He added that the LP presidential flagbearer is popular because the people of Nigeria are convinced by the message of hope for a new Nigeria that he represents.
