Policeman Commits Suicide In Rivers State After Mistakenly Killing Colleague

The Delta State Police Command has on Sunday debunked reports of the command apprehending suspects selling human parts as suya in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state.

Naija News recalls that a video had earlier surfaced on social media indicating that a suspect was arrested with a wheelbarrow load of human parts at Ogwashi-Uku with a voice that the suspect was selling his pieces of staked ‘suya’ meat for N100.00.

The voice added that on a good bargain, he could dispose of two sticks of the roasted meat for N150.00 but consumers never knew that they were consuming human meat.

However, reacting to the viral video, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe, said the command had not arrested anybody in possession of human parts.

Edafe, who stated this while speaking to Vanguard, explained that what the police evacuated was a victim of a hit-and-run driver, explaining that the body of the unidentified victim was totally shattered.

18-year-old Drowns In River While Trying To Save Cow

An 18-year-old man, Adamu Musa, who hails from Unguwar Magina, Buji town, Buji Local Government Area, Jigawa State, has reportedly drowned in a pond while attempting to save his cow after it fell into the water.

Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement on Sunday by the Jigawa State Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Adamu Shehu.

He claimed the tragic situation happened on Saturday at around 2:00 when the young man brought two of his cows to the farm and released them to graze from the surrounding grasses.

According to Shehu, on sighting what happened, Musa rushed to rescue his cow but was drowned, despite the combined efforts of the locals and the NSCDC personnel to rescue him.

He added that his body was found on Sunday and handed over to his parents for proper burial, while the cow was rescued alive.
