A Saturday morning fire outbreak has reportedly unsettled residents of the Matogun area of Ogun State.

Reports reaching Naija News at the moment said the inferno started less than half an hour ago.

The fire involving a truck according to reports had affected a yet-to-be-ascertained number of lives. Confirming the incident, a resident who identified himself as Mr Oluwatosin Ariyanja told Vanguard that the fire has degenerated and affected many buildings in the area.

He gave the location as off Akute – Oke-aro Road, Onolambe Matogbun Road, Oluyole Bus stop, opposite Ike Anobi Mosque. Ogun state.

It was gathered that Ogun State Fire Service had issues accessing the area but men of Federal Fire Service had responded and are on their way to the scene of the incident.

The Coordinator, Lagos Territorial District, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye was said to have confirmed the development.

Naija News recalls that the incident is happening barely a week after a massive inferno happened beside the camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

An eyewitness who resides around the camp area, Manuel Olayinka who attested to the incident on Twitter noted that the fire didn’t happen inside the camp as speculated in some quarters, but in a private gas plant along the road.

He disclosed that the RCCG firemen and the Ogun/Lagos State Federal Firefighters both responded to the inferno.

Also, the leadership of the Church has since cleared the air on the incident.
