BREAKING: Akpabio Confirms Wike Nyesom's Name In Tinubu's Ministerial List

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and incumbent Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has reacted to the event in Kano State on Monday where the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, received Senator Ibrahim Shekarau back to the umbrella party.

Wike, who was absent at the event, said he saw a rapist from Rivers State at Shekarau’s homecoming.

Speaking at an event on Tuesday, Wike said he was watching the event on television yesterday as Atiku and other PDP chieftains gathered to receive Shekarau in Kano.

“I saw one rapist from Rivers State sitting at the back where he went to join them to receive Shekarau but I asked him; ‘How many people have you made to join your party in your state?’ Wike asked.

He added: “You have gone to receive somebody somewhere but you have not made efforts to receive other people to join your own party in your state. You like when food is ready, you’ll go but for you to cook, it is where people have cooked that you go to eat the food but you won’t cook your own.”

Wike questioned the individual about his role in the state chapter of the party and as someone who truly wants PDP to win the 2023 election.

He asked further: “How many people have you been able to galvanise, mobilise them for them to leave their party to join your party?

“That is to show you are committed, willing and ready to make your party win an election.”

Naija News reports that Shekarau officially joined the PDP from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Monday.

The former PDP chieftain was received back to the opposition party yesterday in Kano.

The homecoming ceremony was attended by top stakeholders of the party including Atiku, PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu; the party’s Board of Trustees chairman, Walid Jibrin; former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, amongst others, Naija News reports.
