EPL: Bournemouth Sack Scott Parker As Head Coach After 9-0 Defeat To Liverpool

English Premier League club, Bournemouth has announced the sack of its head coach, Scott Parker.

This is coming following a historic defeat to Liverpool last Saturday, Naija News reports.

Having suffered a defeat at Old Trafford against Manchester United days ago, Jurgen Klopp’s men returned to their winning ways over the last weekend as they thrashed Bournemouth to 9-0 at Anfield to record their first win in the ongoing campaign.

The Saturday embarrassing defeat at Anfield makes the Cherries’ third loss of the season since their promotion back to the Premier League, Naija News understands.

Bournemouth has so far conceived 16 goals since the season started after losing against Manchester City and Arsenal. Though they won a game against Aston Villa.

Announcing the club’s search for a new head coach, Bournemouth chairman Mxim Demin said: “I would like to place on record my gratitude to Scott and his team for their efforts during their time with us. Our promotion back to the Premier League last season under his tenure will always be remembered as one of the most successful seasons in our history.

“However, in order for us to keep progressing as a team and a club as a whole, it is unconditional that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably. We must also show belief in and respect for one another.

“That is the approach that has brought this club so much success in recent history, and one that we will not veer from now. Our search for a new head coach will begin immediately.”

Naija News understands that Gary O’Neil is expected to take interim charge of Wednesday’s home clash with Wolves and would be assisted by Shaun Cooper and Tommy Elphick.
