The former Senator for Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has reacted to trending comments on the shoes of the All Progressives Congress, APC, vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima to an event.

Recall that Naija News earlier reported that former presidential aide, Reno Omokri and other Nigerians had expressed dissatisfaction over Shettima’s appearance.

The former governor was dressed in a black suit and red tie, accompanied by a pair of gym shoes.

However, Sani has shared quite a different opinion and has explained via a post on Facebook that wearing the best suit does not make one a good leader.

He wrote: “Leave Shetima’s suit alone. It’s not our national attire. If you wanted a man with the best suit to lead you, you could have gone for Donald Duke”.

When It Comes To Politics, I Don’t Care For Tribe And Religion – Soyinka

Nobel Laureate and internationally renowned playwright, Professor Wole Soyinka, has lamented that Nigeria has not reached a point where religion and tribe don’t matter in determining those who hold leadership positions in the country.

Naija News reports that the decision of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, to announce a former governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, as his running mate had drawn widespread condemnation.

The decision attracted criticism from Christian Association and individuals due to the fact that both Tinubu and Shettima are both Muslims.

Speaking on Channels Television on Monday night, the 88-year-old said he doesn’t care if Nigeria’s next president, vice-president, and Speaker of the House of Representatives are from the same religion and village.
