Oshoala, DJ Cuppy, Erica Back Anthony Joshua As Some Others Blame Buhari For His Defeat

Some Nigerian celebrities have taken to social media to sympathise with British-Nigerian heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua over his defeat at the weekend as some other Nigerians blame President Muhammadu Buhari for the loss.

Naija News reports that Joshua lost to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk via split decision on Sunday morning at the King Abdullah Sports Arena in Jeddah with Usyk retaining his IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO titles.

Reacting, Nigerian female footballer, Asisat Oshoala, Erica and DJ Cuppy sympathised with Joshua over the loss and expressed their continued support for him.

She wrote: “I felt AJ had like 2 occasions where he could’ve gone in for a KO but he was too tired. Omo na we wey no too understand the sport Dey analyze pass….. Anyway, we are coming back, NAIJA FOR LIFE STILL.”

DJ Cuppy wrote: “So PROUD of Femi! WITH or WITHOUT belts, ALWAYS my CHAMP. Oh and before I forget, F*CK the HATERS!”

Erica Nlwedim wrote: “Anthony Joshua you’re still a champion.”

However, some Nigerians took to social media to react stating that ever since the two-time heavyweight champion met with Buhari, he has been recording losses in his march.
