Tinubu Sends Message To Defeated Kenyan Presidential Aspirants

A presidential candidate in Nigeria’s 2023 general election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has urged aspirants who were defeated in the just-concluded Kenya presidential election to shun actions that could spur violence in the East Africa country and “accept this result”.

Naija News reports that Tinubu made this known in a statement on Tuesday while congratulating Willian Ruto for his victory in the election held on August 9, 2022.

Ruto, who is the incumbent Vice President of Kenya, was declared the winner of the election by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) after scoring 50.49% of the vote.

He narrowly defeated Kenya’s veteran opposition leader and former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, who contested the office for the fifth time.

Tinubu, who is the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, urged aggrieved aspirants in the Kenya election to “seek peaceful adjudication of all disputes through the Kenyan legal system.
