A former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, has denied asking the Igbos to shelve their agitation for the presidency till 2031.

A statement credited to Ihedioha (not on Naija News) had quoted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain as saying the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, is crafty.

The statement which reportedly circulated social media spaces on Monday was titled ‘2023: Igbos Should Wait Till 2031, Peter Obi Is Crafty’.

Reacting, however, to the said reports, Ihedioha in a statement through his media aide, Chibuike Onyeukwu, asked the public to disregard the claims, adding that it was fake news.

His response reads: “Our attention has been drawn to another fake news, with the above caption, circulated in some social media platforms.

“This is one of the many orchestrated efforts by political opponents of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON and their collaborators who are afraid of squaring up against him in the coming elections.

“It is noteworthy that His Excellency did not grant any interview in Abuja or elsewhere as claimed.

“His Excellency is known to acquit himself in the most civil, decent and respectful manner and therefore could not have employed such uncouth words.

“We are aware that the purveyors of these unfounded reports are unrelenting in their desperation to impugn His Excellency’s integrity and reputation.

“The public, therefore, is alerted and indeed advised to kindly ignore and disregard the fake news.”

Peter Obi Will Not Win Half Of Any Nasarawa LGA Despite One-million March – Adeyanju

Meanwhile, the convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju has claimed that Obi will not win half of any local government area in Nasarawa State.

The activist said this while reacting to the one-million-man march by Nasarawa residents in support of Obi ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Naija News reports that on Saturday, August 7, 56 support groups from 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State organised a one-million-man march to support Obi.

The group carried several inscriptions which indicated their love and support for the former Anambra Governor and marched from the College of Agriculture junction along Jos Road to the U-turn linking Lafia main market along Makurdi Road.

Reacting to the huge support for the LP candidate, Adeyanju insisted that the crowd was hired, while also adding that Obi would not win half of the votes from any LGA in Nassarawa.

He tweeted: “Sorry to break your hearts guys but Peter Obi won’t still win even half of an LGA in Nasarawa after the rally yesterday.

“You will be shocked that 90% of those who came out to protest yesterday did so because someone paid them and they won’t vote him. Vawulence dropped, bye.”
