EPL: Ferdinand Explains Why Ronaldo Can't Leave Man United Now

Former English International and now sports pundit, Rio Ferdinand has revealed why his former club, Manchester United would not let any club sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Naija News understands that Ronaldo has been linked with some top clubs lately, including Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

The Portugal national team captain had openly shown interest in playing for a team in the UEFA Champions League.

However, Ferdinand, who played with Ronaldo during his first stint at Old Trafford, said Erik Ten Hag’s side must hold onto the forward.

The former Red Devils defender was of the opinion that United will find it hard to replace the 37-year-old player if he leaves the club this summer.

Ferdinand believes United will find it hard to get a player that can score as much as Ronaldo at the moment.

Speaking on his Vibe with Five podcasts, Ferdinand was asked whether or not he would have started Ronaldo against Brighton, he said: “For a player, the worst thing for you to do is sit on the bench and come on in a game.

“You start him, tell him you’re going to play 45 and do what you do. He would’ve had 45 minutes in him.

“He’s experienced enough to pace himself through a game. You’ve got to trust these guys.”

“Man United are never letting him go right now. Where are they going to find 24 goals? Don’t have the conversation, you’re not going anywhere,” Ferdinand argued.
