Police Reacts To Viral Reports Of Plans By Bandits To Invade Kwara State Through Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command says there is no iota of truth in viral social media reports that bandits have perfected plans to use the Kebbi route to enter Kwara State.

The public relations officer of the Kebbi Police Command, SP Nafi’u Abubakar in a press release told members of the public to ignore the viral reports.

He added that some unpatriotic persons are behind the reports with an intention to cause panic and instill fear in the heart of the people.

Abubakar assured of the readiness and commitment of the Police and other security agencies to provide adequate security for the people and their belongings.

According to him, “sequel to an intelligence report that has gone viral on some social media platforms that, Kamba area of Kebbi State is one of the routes to be used by bandits to Kwara State, the Kebbi State Police Command wishes to unequivocally reiterate that, such an intelligence report is fake, misleading, mischievous.

“It is a calculated attempt by some unpatriotic individuals aimed at instilling fear and divert the attention of the state police command on its avowed commitment at guaranteeing the safety and security of the good people of Kebbi State.”

He further gave assurances to the people on behalf of the acting commissioner of police, Kebbi State Command, DCP Maiyaki M. Baba about their guaranteed safety.

The Police spokesperson urged them to disregard the fake intelligence report and go about their lawful businesses as no stone will be left unturned in ensuring the protection of lives and property.

He enjoined members of the public to be security conscious and report any suspicious person or persons to the nearest police station in order to forestall any unforeseen circumstances.
