Veteran Musician, Ebenezer Obey Loses Son

Renowned musician, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey‘s son, Olalekan Obey-Fabiyi has died.

Fabiyi reportedly died on Friday at the age of 48 and was laid to rest on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

The cause of Fabiyi’s death is yet to be made public, but reports confirmed he was buried barely 24 hours after his was confirmed dead.

Naija News understands that a decade ago, Obey lost his wife, Lady Juliana Obe-Fabiyi.

The wife of the veteran Juju musician died precisely on August 23, 2011. Mrs Juliana who was 67 years old at that time died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

Juliana was married to Obey for 48 years before death took her away. Obey himself has had to debunk several rumours of his death year after year as unverified sources claimed he has died.

“I thank God and appreciate my fans all over the world who have been showing concern and care about the death rumour.

“I want everyone to know that God is with me, I am alive and not sick, I am in peace,” Obey told News Agency of Nigeria during an interview many months ago.

Prior to the public announcement of Fabiyi’s demise, the Publisher of Ovation International, Dele Momodu shared a video on the Instagram handle of the founder of UK-based Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church aka SPAC Nation, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, receiving Obey at his home in London.

The musician was accompanied by his son, Bishop Folarin to Adegboyega’s home.

“Pastor TOBI ADEGBOYEGA receives the music legend CHIEF COMMANDER EBENEZER OBEY, accompanied by son BISHOP FOLARIN OBEY, at home in London,” Momodu had captioned the post on Saturday night.
