Details Of President Buhari's Meeting With Uzodinma Emerge

President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State on Friday night met at the official residence of the President.

Naija News reports that Uzodinma’s visit to the Presidential Villa may be connected to preparations to host the President in Imo State soon.

The visit may also have featured discussions on Uzodimma’s role in the Presidential Council on E-Government and Digital Economy.

Recall that the Imo State Governor had in June told newsmen at the Presidential Villa that Buhari had accepted his invitation to inaugurate some development projects executed by his administration.

Although details if the meeting are still sketchy, the duo may likely have touched on the security situation in the South-East state.

Insecurity: Gov. Ortom Backs Impeachment Move Against President Buhari

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has commended the National Assembly for issuing a six-week ultimatum for President Muhammadu Buhari to step up the fight against insecurity or risk being impeached.

Ortom gave the commendation when he received a delegation of some members of the National Assembly led by the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Philip Aduda at the governor’s lodge, Abuja.

Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus of the Senate led by the Senate Minority Leader, PhIlip Aduda had on Tuesday, walked out of plenary to protest the failure of the President  to end insecurity in Nigeria, issuing six weeks ultimatum to the president to end the challenges.

Reacting, Ortom described the move by both the Senate and the House of Representatives to impeach the President as patriotic, and commended some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who opted to support the decision.

According to Governor Ortom, President Buhari has performed far below the expectations of Nigerians in solving both the security and economic challenges of the country and so needed to be shown a way out for a more competent person.
