There was tension at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State on Friday morning after gunmen suspected to be kidnappers whisked away at least three people at Abaa, a community near the higher institution.

Reports reaching Naija News confirmed that the assailants attacked the community located in the Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo late Thursday night and kidnapped the victims.

The victims are said to include a hotelier, his worker and another unidentified person.

A resident of the community who confirmed the incident to The PUNCH on condition of anonymity said they suspect the gunmen to be Fulani hoodlums.

According to him, the community head, Chief John Adepoju after learning about the situation immediately sent messages to residents to remain vigilant and stay indoors after the incident.

“The owner of the hotel travelled and returned yesterday and the incident happened not long after his return.

“The kidnappers should be about 10 from what those who were present at the scene told us and they fired several shots to scare people away and whisked their victims away.

“This problem which we were hearing of from afar has come to this area and it is unfortunate that it has become a frequent occurrence here now,” The PUNCH quoted the source as saying.
