A senator of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Elisha Abbo has supported the Peoples Democratic Party senators’ move to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari over the state of insecurity in the nation.

This was made known by Senator Abbo via an interview on Channels TV station.

On Wednesday, the Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Philip Aduda had demanded that the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, discuss the country’s security situation and President Buhari’s impeachment.

Lawan had however declined the order which led to some lawmakers elected on the platforms of other political parties other than the APC walking out of the legislative chamber while the plenary was ongoing.

They later gave the president a six-weeks ultimatum to address the insecurity in the nation or face impeachment.

Speaking on the call for impeachment, Abbo, who represents Adamawa North senatorial district in the upper chamber of the National Assembly spoke on the sideline of the APC Northern Christian Leaders summit held in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The lawmaker who stated that he supported the move to impeach the president explained that Buhari had failed the Nigerian people.
