The meeting was held to resolve the differences in the party ahead of the 2023 general elections, Naija News understands.

There have been grievances in the party following the emergence of Atiku and his running mate, Okowa as the party’s flag bearers for the 2023 presidential election.

The National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu was also in attendance at the reconciliation meeting held on Tuesday.

The likes of the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike; Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom and some others are believed to be unhappy over recent developments in the party.

Governor Ortom at different times had called on Atiku to meet with the governor of Rivers State to reconcile their differences.

According to Ortom, if Wike is appeased other aggrieved governors in the party will also feel appeased.

The PDP presidential candidate would be hoping to get the support of the aggrieved governors ahead of the 2023 general election.

The opposition party is hoping to take over power in 2023 after suffering defeated to the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 general elections and losing its chance to reclaim power in the 2019 presidential election.
