Peter Obi Reacts To Video Of Tobi Amusan Crying After Winning World Athletics

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections,  Peter Obi, has congratulated Tobi Amusan on winning the 100m hurdles gold medal at the World Championships held in the United States of America.

The former governor, Peter Obi took to his Instagram page on Monday, to commend Amusan for setting a new world record.

According to Obi, Amusan’s tears at the podium while the national anthem played connotes that the country needs leaders that will match up the talents and ambitions of her youth.

Amusan, 25, recorded a 12.06-second performance on Sunday, making her the first Nigerian athlete to win gold at such an event.

Sharing the video on his Instagram page, Peter Obi captioned it; “I sincerely congratulate Tobi Amusan on winning the 100M hurdles gold medal and setting a world record.

“Her tears at the ceremony podium while the Nigerian anthem played connects that our dear country needs leaders to match the talents and ambitions of her youths.”
