Ortom Reacts As Buhari Postpones National Population Census

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom on Monday revealed the presidential candidate he will support in the 2023 general election.

Ortom in a statement released on Monday declared the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar as the candidate he will support in the forthcoming election.

The Benue State Governor noted that whatever happened during the presidential primary of the main opposition party and the nomination of the party’s vice presidential candidate is now a thing of the past.

He vow not to contradict the statement of Atiku where he claimed that a committee set up to suggest the party’s vice presidential candidate did not nominate Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State as his running mate.

Recall that Atiku during an interview with Arise TV claimed that the committee suggested three names and he decided to pick the governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa.

Ortom in a post on his Twitter account described PDP as a family, adding that they will solve their matters in-house.

He wrote, “I will not contradict @atiku on what he said. He is my candidate and I am behind him. Whatever happened in the course of the primary and nomination of the presidential running mate is now a thing of the past. The PDP is a family, and we will always settle our matters in-house.”
