Former Kaduna North Central Senator, Shehu Sani has expressed worry over the operations of bandit terrorists in Nigeria.

The 8th National Assembly lawmaker took to social media on Sunday to react after the terrorists who attacked the Abuja-Kaduna passengers months ago issued a threat to the Nigerian government.

Naija News reported earlier that terrorists on Sunday released a video where they threatened to kidnap and kill Nigeria’s number one citizen, President Muhammadu Buhari.

The threat is coming a few weeks after the convoy of an advance team of the president was attacked on its way to Buhari’s hometown of Daura, Katsina, ahead of Sallah.

In a video clip obtained by Daily Trust, the terrorists threatened to abduct and kill Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.

The terrorists have boldly dared the Nigerian government, threatening they will kill the remaining passengers in their custody and sell out the others.

The assailants also threatened to turn the area into an abattoir unless the Muhammadu Buhari-led government complied with their demands.

Reacting indirectly to the treats, Senator Sani via his Twitter page on Sunday morning said time is of the essence for the incumbent government to act.

The politician observed that terrorists have in most cases succeeded in their operations, holding victims captive and only releasing them when a ransom is paid.

Sani said the terrorist’s aim from the latest video they posted was to wage a psychological war to draw the attention of the government to their demands.

Sani’s tweet read: “When terrorists post video clips of the torture of their victims, they are waging a psychological war to bring attention to their demands. We don’t have a thick forest in the North West to warrant four months of this ordeal. Time is of the essence for the Government to act now.

“There have never been any successful rescue operations for most mass kidnappings of students, farmers or passengers in Kaduna, other than ransom payments by families. That is why the terrorists in the video called the committee set up by the Government as “Tea drinking committee.

“The video clip of the torture of Kaduna-bound train hostages followed the same pattern with that of the Federal College of Agric mechanisation Kaduna. The difference was that women were spared. They are sending a message. The options remain two; free them or negotiate for their release.”
