Tinubu To Buhari: Shettima Will Not Be For Hausa, Fulani And Kanuri
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has told President Muhammadu Buhari that his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, is detribalized.
He stated this on Wednesday when he accompanied Shettima on a courtesy visit to Buhari at the Presidential Villa.
In a statement signed by Garba Shehu, Spokesman to the President, Tinubu said Shettima will not be for the “troika of Hausa, Fulani, and Kanuri.”
The APC presidential candidate noted that his running mate would be a vice president for all Nigerians, not minding their ethnicity, religion, or geographical place of origin.
He also vowed to remain devoted and loyal to President Buhari.
Also speaking at the meeting, Shettima thanked Buhari for his “empathy, support and positive role,” leading to his emergence as running mate.
According to him, President Buhari has a special place in his heart for the people of Borno and the North-East.
“I can cite 20-30 instances of support you have rendered, for which you will be remembered,” he added.
Shettima pointed to the establishment of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and the Independent Power Plant for Maiduguri by the NNPC, “after many years of darkness.”
