APC Chieftain Escapes From Kidnappers’ Captivity In Edo

A chieftain of the Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Godwin Aigbogun, has escaped from the captivity of his abductors.
Naija News understands that Aigbogun is the Chairman of the APC in Ward 9, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state.
It was learned that Aigbogun was abducted by the kidnappers on his way back to the community from his farm in Ologbonugu on Monday evening.
After his abduction, the gunmen suspected to be herdsmen reportedly demanded N5 million ransom from his family for his release on Tuesday.
Confirming Aigbogun’s escape, the state APC Publicity Secretary, Peter Uwadiae, said that the APC stalwart had since rejoined his family.
Uwadiae commended Aigbogun for his bravery, adding that the APC family in the state is happy about this development.
“I can confirm to you that he has escaped from the kidnappers’ den. I don’t know how he did it but I must commend him for his bravery. The APC family in the state is happy about this. He is now with the family,” he told The Punch.
