2023: APC Governors Wanted Zulum As Tinubu’s Running Mate – Shettima

The vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Kashim Shettima on Wednesday claimed that governors elected on the platform of the party wanted Babagana Zulum as the running mate to Bola Tinubu.

Shettima during his visit to President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said the governors mounted pressure on Zulum.

Naija News had earlier reported that Shettima met with President Buhari alongside the Governor of Borno State

Shettima in his statement urged President Buhari to appreciate Zulum for suggesting him for the vice presidential slot of the ruling party.

He also lauded Zulum for ignoring the pressure from his colleagues to bid for the vice presidential ticket.

President Buhari met with Shettima and Zulum shortly after the ruling party official unveiled the former governor of Borno State as the vice presidential candidate.

Recall that Tinubu had earlier announced Shettima as his running mate during a visit to President Buhari in Daura, Kastina State.

The APC presidential candidate announced Shettima as the APC vice presidential candidate despite calls against the Muslim/Muslim ticket of the ruling party.
