2023: Adamu Speaks On Plan To Woo Wike Into APC

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has said he was not aware of any plan to woo the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

Adamu was reacting to the visit of three APC Governors to Wike in Port Harcourt a week ago in an interview with Arise News on Sunday.

Recall that Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State had led Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State to meet with Wike.

Naija News reports that the APC Governors took advantage of the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to meet with Wike and convince him to join the ruling party.

Speaking on the matter, Adamu said he was not informed about the visit to Wike or the outcome of the meeting.

“In as much as I read the story in the national dailies, the governors you are talking about did not discuss the mission with me nor have they discussed the outcome of the mission with me. I, therefore, cannot comment on it,” he said.
