The Chief Medical Director of Duchess International Hospital in Lagos, Dr Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi, has given an update on the health condition of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Naija News had earlier reported that Osinbajo underwent a surgical operation on his leg at the hospital on Saturday.

A statement by Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, said the surgery became necessary because of recurrent pain in the leg from an injury possibly while playing squash.

Dosunmu-Ogunbi in a fresh statement released by Akande said the operation was successful and the vice president is in good condition.

He stated that a team of surgeons repaired the break of Osinbajo’s right thigh bone which was related to a longstanding injury associated with a game of squash.

Dosunmu-Ogunbu disclosed that the vice president is expected to be discharged within the next few days.

The operation was successful, and he is expected to be discharged within the next few days,” he said.

He named the team of experts who performed the surgery to include, Dr. Wallace Ogufere, Dr. Om Lahoti and Dr. Babajide Lawson (all Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons).

Others were Dr Dosunmu-Ogunbi (Consultant Physician), Dr. Ken Adegoke (Consultant in Anaesthesia & Critical Care) and Dr. Oladimeji Agbabiaka, Consultant Anaesthetists.
