Tinubu Vists Kano, Donates N100m To Flood Victims

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has explained why the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, decided to go with a Muslim-Muslim pick.

He stated that Tinubu decided to pick former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima, to discourage religious consideration.

The Kano State Governor made this known on Friday while speaking to journalists at Unguwar Sabo Juma’at Mosque, Osogbo, Osun State

He stated that religion should not be in the minds of Nigerians as the country is facing challenges such as poor economy, unemployment, and other developmental issues but not religion.

We advised him (Tinubu) to pick Muslim as his running mate to end the religious consideration shown in Nigeria’s politics,” Ganduje said.

We, northern governors, stand firmly that a presidential candidate must come from the South so as to do away with all these differences.”

Naija News reports that Tinubu has come under heavy criticism over his choice to pick another Muslim like himself as running mate ahead of the election.

Many individuals, groups, and party leaders have called on the former Lagos State Governor to drop Senator Shettima as his running mate.

However, the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the substitution of names expired on Friday, June 15th.
