Delta State Pensioners have called out the state Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, over unpaid salaries.

A video shared by Nollywood actor, Ugezu shows the massive crowd chanting ‘Okowa pay us our money’ at the government house.

The actor said the pensioners, demanding their rights, blocked the government house road in Asaba, the state capital.

Ugezu described the situation as the tragedy of a failed system, stating that many people in the state have seen nothing wrong with the administration refusing to pay government workers.

He captioned the video: “DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE ROAD IS CURRENTLY BLOCKED BY PENSIONERS DEMANDING FOR THEIR RIGHTS. HAPPENING LIVE NOW IN ASABA.

“The tragedy of a failed system. This is the same Governor Okowa warming up to become the Vice President. And many people in the same Delta State see nothing wrong with the administration that will not pay government workers.

“And if these frustrated men and women go to court, judges appointed by the same governor will be the ones judging. Something is so deeply wrong with the structure we are running in Nigeria”
